India Today Axis My India released an exit poll regarding the Odisha assembly elections, in which BJD is seen to be suffering a lot.
BJD suffers huge loss in exit poll
According to the exit poll of India Today Axis My India, out of the 147 assembly seats in Odisha, both BJP and BJD can get 62-80 seats. If the exit poll figures prove to be correct, then this will be the first time since 2004 that BJD does not get absolute majority in the Odisha assembly elections, which can create problems for five-time Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
How many seats will Congress get in the exit poll?
In the exit poll of Axis My India, Congress can get 5-8 seats. If this exit poll is to be believed, then both BJP and BJD can get 42-42 percent vote share in Odisha. According to the poll, Congress is seen getting 12 percent and others 4 percent voter share. Elections for 147 assembly seats of Odisha were held in four phases on 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June.
In the last election, BJD got 112 seats
Talking about the 2019 assembly elections, BJD emerged as the largest party in Odisha by winning 112 seats. In the last assembly elections, BJP got 23 seats and Congress got 9 seats. VK Pandian, a close aide of CM Patnaik, had claimed on Saturday (June 1) during the last phase of elections that the ruling party (BJD) in Odisha will win more than 115 out of 147 assembly seats and will win 15 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
